Openstack python client issue: The request you have made requires authentication

Hi,
before to submit a ticket I would like to check it out if this is just a mine (and my students too) problem.

I download the CHI--openrc.sh and I source it, this is what I get:

mcanonic@fedora:~$ source /tmp/CHI-251436-openrc.sh
Please enter your OpenStack Password for project CHI-251436 as user mcanonic:
mcanonic@fedora:~$ openstack image list
The request you have made requires authentication. (HTTP 401) (Request-ID: req-d0edbdb1-9d48-4fc7-8620-178db58711b3)

I have two questions:

  1. Is there a way to figure out if the password entered is correct (I’m sure it is, but in general I always thought that not having any feedback when I entered the password is it weird)?
  2. do you have the same problem?

Thanks,
Massimo

Hi Massimo,

There isn’t a way to verify passwords. If you think you have forgotten your password, we can reset it via the help desk.

The issue with the login was an intermittent problem that came up with the recent KVM upgrades, which has been fixed. If you redownload the openrc file now, it should work as expected.

Mark

Yes, it works.
Thanks,
M

I’m having again a problem to login with openstack client:

[mex@lab00 ~]$ openstack image list
The request you have made requires authentication. (HTTP 401) (Request-ID: req-6e949a0b-659c-44a8-b843-83c7ef44cb55)

It worked last week, is there any other update going on?

This issue effects me and my students.
Best,
M
